UNIVERSITY HISTORY

UTCC is a private  nonprofit higher  education institution

University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce  (UTCC), started in 1940 as a “Trade College” and  later attained the university status in 1984. UTCC  is a private nonprofit higher education institution  with a focus on academic excellence in business,  trade and service industry. It serves as a key  resource of knowledge and research on the economy and  business for the country.  The University is academically  organised into 1 5 schools  (Business, Accountancy,  Economics, Humanities, Science  & Technology, Communication  Arts, Engineering, Law,  Entrepreneurship, Tourism &  Services, Early Childhood Education, Digital Arts &  Design, Extension School, International School of  Management, and Graduate School). The academic  programs offered are at Bachelor’s, Master’s and  Doctoral’s levels including online and international  programs. UTCC is Thailand’s first university  to provide off-shore international programs in  Myanmar.

1940
Founded as Trade College with 300 students

1965
Renamed as College of Commerce offering 3-year programs in International Business, Marketing, Accountancy, Financeand  Economics 1971 Started 4-year Bachelor’s Degree programs

1974
Moved to 126/1 Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Din  Daeng, Bangkok, which is its current location

1984
Obtained the university status and its current name “University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC)” 

2010
International School of Management established

2015
Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship Center in partnership with MIT, USA

2020
Currently offering 66 Undergraduate Programs, 32 Graduate Programs and 7 Doctoral Programs
